Worship. Inspiration of People who Worshiped God in Their Every Day Lives!
Who or what do I give my “worship” to? Who do I serve? Live for? Devote my life to?
These are questions I honestly, should be asking myself every day, because for me, it is a daily decision!
I jotted down a few inspirations from the Bible, who worshiped God with their everyday lives. They really inspire me to serve Christ more with my life, and I hope that they inspire you as well!
•When Noah and his family walked from the ark onto dry land, they worshiped God who had preserved them through the storm.
•David the king, even as a child, spent time worshiping God in music, song and dance.
•Hannah worshiped God with song for fulfilling his promise of a child to her. She also gave her son in service to God.
•Even though Ruth and Naomi experienced many hardships, they still believed and worshiped God.
•Job was a faithful man to God, and even in his greatest distress, he fell down and worshiped God by blessing Him saying, “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord”.
•Even though Daniel was in a strange country, he faithfully worshiped God. He continued to worship God, even when prohibited by the king. (And I think that I would be safe to assume that he worshiped God when in the den of lions.)
Daniel, after being miraculously safely taken out, his life of worship had an impact on the entire kingdom so much, that it caused the king to decree that only the one and only true God be worshiped!
•Mary worshiped the Lord by showing her love to Him, in pouring the perfume on His feet.
•The Disciples followed the Jesus and worshiped Him for being their Lord.
•Though Paul lived a life hating Jesus, God turned His heart. God spoke to Paul and showed him His power. Paul turned from his hate to a great love and life full of service and worship for Christ. He even penned, through the Holy Spirit, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
Many other people over the centuries have worshiped God. Do I worship Him with my life?
So often I find myself not. But when my day starts out for me, I still have the chance to change and live it for God. It’s never too late, and it is always freeing when I choose to serve and worship God instead of myself!
